Take
a Trip Around the Peninsula
A trip around the peninsula usually involves
the thrill of driving along the breathtaking Chapmans Peak drive.
The village of Hout Bay is a destination if you're driving north,
if south, then it's a start. Good place to pick up any fish, cooked,
fresh or smoked.
Hout Bay
is also the home of the World of Birds
and the Hout Bay Harbour.
Over Kloof
nek and along the ridge to signal hill above Cape Town gets you
to the spot with the most magnificent view of Table Mountain, Tygerberg
and Cape Town. Robin Island too.
For a
spectacular drive, go south from Simon's Town to Cape Point Nature
Reserve. The 7750 ha reserve is home to over 1000 species of indigenous
plants, 11 of which are endemic, making it one of the richest concentrations
of flora in the world. At the southern tip of the reserve is the
dramatic promontory which divides the Indian and Atlantic oceans.
A funicular railway takes sightseers to the most spectacular viewsite
of the point.
The Cape of Good Hope Ocean
Cruise Charter uses a high speed luxury catamaran for a 90 minute
round the Point trip from Simon's Town. This is the ultimate way
to explore the notorious Cape of Storms.
