Both harbours have a selection of seafood to tickle the palate of any fish connoiseur.

Kalk bay is also only a short walk away from a plethora of antique shops.

Kalk Bay Harbour has it's own living rags to riches success story.

At four years old, Sulayman Achmat was helping to pull in trek nets. From there he went on to line fishing before a brief period of schooling. The pilchard boats out of Hout Bay followed and then 14 seasons of Snoek fishing. During these years he saved and began buying licensed 'K' boats permitted to catch crayfish. In 1977 he bought a large fishing boat and in 1997 his second, the Zay-Yaan was commissioned.
