The
World of Birds
WORLD
OF BIRDS is one of the most exciting attractions Cape Town has
to offer. It is a paradise for nature lovers and photographers,
and is unparalleled anywhere in the world.
Over 3000 birds (and small animals) of 450 different species are
uniquely presented in more than 100 spacious and tropically landscaped
walk-through aviaries which allow the most intimate closeness
with nature.
A
tropical garden setting in the Hout Bay Valley is the environment
in which the aviaries are spaced over 4ha of land, framed by the
back of Table Mountain, The Twelve Apostles, Constantiaberg, Chapman's
Peak and Little Lion's Head.
The birds behave just as they would in the
wild - but without fear and the experience is unforgettable. They
feed, sing, display, build nests incubate eggs and feed their
chicks right in front of your eyes. Each visit is a very special
experience and differs with every season
